About The Director

David Garcia is a music educator based in Mountain View, CA with over 10 years of experience in music teaching and performance. David pursued his Bachelors of Music from Chapman University. His teaching blends rigorous and in-depth curricula with authentic artistic and musical connection.
David has taught in various music programs along the Bay Area peninsula — creating a bilingual after-school music program at Castro Elementary, building a full music program from the ground up at Up Academy, as well as teaching at the Music School in Sunnyvale, CA. Today, he continues to teaching through his private studio and freelance work. Through his musicianship boot camp, David hopes to build a more connected community around a love for the arts and music. As a former chorister and music student, he felt some directors or ensembles could become too intense, too time consuming, or — honestly— kinda just mean. He is actively to redefining what a community music-making can be: a space the keeps its musical integrity while removing the stress and pressure too often associated with the arts. His hope is that his studio can become that perfect middle space for community. When he’s not teaching or community organizing he can be found crafting at home, cooking, writing, working on his drag, or hang with friends! It’s always a fun time at la casa! |
